NYC Ballet at Lincoln Center:
April 29–June 8
"Highlights of the 2014 spring season include a weeklong festival of 21st-century choreographers, with works by Alexi Ratmansky, Peter Martins and Christopher Wheeldon, among others. The major event, though, is the world premiere of the latest collaboration between the company's own Justin Peck and singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens. Peck solidified his standing among the highest ranks of 21st-century choreographers with Year of the Rabbit, which he premiered with City Ballet in fall 2012, at the tender age of 25. The new, as-yet-unnamed piece anchors the spring gala, on May 8, and will be performed later in the month (May 22, 29 and 31). The season closes with George Balanchine's full-length version of A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Bill Cunningham: Facades

Long before street-style bloggers, there was Bill Cunningham. The street photographer's impromptu fashion shots graced the pages of the Chicago Tribune and Women's Wear Daily, but he became a regular contributor to The New York Times after a candid shot of Greta Garbo in a well-cut coat caught the eye of Times editor Arthur Gelb. Facades is an exhibition of Cunningham's eight-year-long photo essay work, which includes photographs of models dressed in period costumes against historic architectural backdrops."

"If you're as obsessed with food trucks as the rest of New York City, then you'll want to head to Prospect Park's Grand Army Plaza for some serious sampling. Featured fare includes cheesesteaks, tacos and gourmet ice cream. Later, work off your lunch with a stroll through the 585-acre Prospect Park, home to ball fields, a carousel, zoo and a natural forest habitat. You can also take the kids to free Pop-Up Audobon activities at the park's Binnen Bridge throughout the afternoon."
