Rony's Choice: Willow. NYFW Day 1

The parties are about to begin, and the shows are still not over yet! Though Irina Shabayeva and Tim Hamilton are still scheduled to show tonight, I already have my favorite collection for NYFW Day 1, and the award goes to Willow!

With her use of muted colors, and fantastic tailor, this equestrian collection is refreshingly modern.
Kit Willow's inspiration tends to be very nature-centralized, and this season this is what she had to say about the incredible Fall 2011 presented today,
"I'm still interested in the connections between humans and animals, but this season, I wanted to explore the very formal way we dress to ride these beautiful horses."
The inspiration is made clear in the tight cropped riding jackets and pants, along with the way Kit Willow brings modernism to a classical Equestrian look. The materials were spectacular as well, featuring  lazer-cut leather, suedes, amazing silk prints, and blended metallic wools.

THOSE PANTS!! Ugh I need some Kit Willow in my life, I could rock it.
The shapes were also very facinating, featuring some pants that were out of this world! (left pic) Though she is typically known for having more edge than this collection shows, I personally fell in love with her use of clean shapes, perfectly balanced muted colors with splashes of teal, and the well tailored seperates that are bound to bring this woman to stardom one day soon.

Comment below on your favorites of the day! I'm off to some parties and will report back tomorrow!

XOXO RONY
