Jason Wu Fall 2013 RTW Collection
This season Jason Wu was designing for a more mature
audience. The inspiration for the more elegant and sophisticated collection seemed to be
linked to his recent publicity: Michelle Obama wore one of his designs to the
inaugural ball for a second time this January.
Wu said the collection was based on “extreme femininity.” It
was true that many of the girly elements of his past collections were seen
again in this line. Most recognizable were the pleats and lace details.
He mixed the feminine with masculine silhouettes of wider
shoulders and fully buttoned up blouses. Other interesting details were created
with cutout like patterns created with sheer fabrics; a perfect demonstration
of the balance between severe and sexy Wu was going for this season.
What do you think? Don't you want a piece of Wu's New York sophistication in your closet?

Jenny Packham Fall 2013 RTW Collection
The Jenny Packham show is on the top my radar every season and the designer never disappoints with her gorgeous, lady-like aesthetic shining through each piece of the collection.
The ruby red sash is a perfect accent. |
This is one of my favorites - so classy! |
Who would've thought knitwear and satin go so well together? |
This just below the knee length is the shortest Packham goes. |
The peplum is still lingering in this strapless stunner. |
Shades of nude blush pink and deeply saturated teals and reds are prominent in the collection as well as Packham's signature attention to detail and bead-work.

Calvin Klein Collection Fall 2013
Calvin Klein's Ready-to-Wear for Fall 2013 was "a collection based on coats" said Francisco Costa, the Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection; indeed that's exactly what it was. Almost each piece that made its way down the runaway was a different take on an oversized jacket, all completed with a large, chunky belt that cinched each models waist. Costa's inspiration for the "military-inspired coats" came from Andrei Tarkovsky's film, Ivan's Childhood.
Most of the collection consisted of leather pieces in colors like black, dark green, and blue, with some pieces in white.

This dress is extremely militaristic, and I love everything about it.
Love this! It looks so warm! I'd wear this, especially in the city where it's been very cold!

Prabal Gurung for Target
With Prabal Gurung's new "LOVE" collaboration with Target drawing near...lets all look at his fantastic designs so we can all decide what to buy on February 10th. With his bright, funky, color pallets and floral patterns, it's safe to say that this collection should do much better than the previously failed collaboration with Neiman Marcus and Target.
These ankle-strap heels are TO DIE FOR. Every color, please?
In love with this dress, especially with the strappy heels! My favorite!
If you head over to Target.com, Prabal Gurung is offering quizzes to see which LOVE style fits yours! The one I got was actually my favorite dress I shown before! Mr. Gurung know's what I like :)
