We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are having a very happy Hanukkah if you celebrate! We are sure you are all exhausted from battling the crowds today and shopping for fantastic finds, but we decided to give you just a few more ideas for what to do this weekend if you stayed in the city for the break and are sick of studying for finals.
November 29th - December 5th: "Celebrate Hanukkah with the lighting of the world's largest menorah at Grand Army Plaza (Fifth Avenue and West 59th Street, across the street from The Plaza hotel). This 32-foot-high, gold-colored, 4,000-pound steel holiday icon is a sight to behold. Every holiday evening at 5:30pm, a candle will be lit—save for on the Sabbath. Friday's lighting will be at 3:30pm and Saturday's at 8:30pm."
November 29th - January 20th: Visit the fashion jewelry exhibit at the Museum of Art and Design at Columbus Circle
"The work of designers including Miriam Haskell, Marcel Boucher,
Balenciaga, Kenneth Jay Lane, and Gripoix highlights this exhibit of 450
pieces of fashion jewelry from the collection of Barbara Berger,
considered to be one of the largest and finest collections of couture
jewelry in the world. Many items were designed to complement specific
items from Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana. For
more information and related programming, visit madmuseum.org"
