Get ready and excited for the guest speakers from URBN tomorrow with some background information about the company!

The Company Profile: "Our established ability to understand our customers and connect with them on an emotional level. The reason for this success is that our brands — Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain and BHLDN — are both compelling and distinct. Each brand chooses a particular customer segment, and once chosen, sets out to create sustainable points of distinction with that segment. In the retail brands we design innovative stores that resonate with the target audience; offer an eclectic mix of merchandise in which hard and soft goods are cross merchandised; and construct unique product displays that incorporate found objects into creative selling vignettes. The emphasis is on creativity. Our goal is to offer a product assortment and an environment so compelling and distinctive that the customer feels an empathetic connection to the brand and is persuaded to buy."

Introducing BHLDN: The Urban Outfitters Bridal Collection

We heard about this long ago, and I had almost forgotten about it, but BHLDN will finally be launching, via e-commerce, on Monday, AKA Valentine's Day!

It's time for this Anthropologie beauty to get married, WHAT WILL SHE WEAR?!
For those of you who need to catch up, BHLDN is Urban Outfitter's bridal concept, think of the Anthropologie customer, and how differently the wedding she desires probably is. That is where BHLDN comes in, offering alternative bridal and event wear that has the look of vintage femininity with the beautifully detailed, and sometimes quirky, elements the Anthropologie collection is known for. The wedding gowns will be priced at $1,000-$4,000 and event dressed will range from $200-$600.

A snapshot of the beautifully detailed offerings from BHLDN.
Beyond the clothes, BHLDN will be offering accessories, jewelry, shoes, and lingerie. In May they will be adding certain wedding accessories such as Tabletops, cake pedestals, place cards, and much of what is needed to decorate a venue for a wedding. Next year they hope to offer invitations completely personalized and hand-pressed for you, and eventually go into services such as photography, styling, catering, and florists.

"Be you, be loved." The BHLDN website officially launches on Valentine's Day.
“We’re confident that we’re filling in space that no one’s filling in,” Norris continued. “We’re offering a take that’s not out there. We have a lot of shorter dresses, lots of color and prints and no optic white dresses. Traditionally, people got married in churches. Now, they’re getting married on beaches and mountain tops. We’re building our assortment for the ultimate end use.” - says Kristin Norris, BHLDN's managing director, of the collection.
Personally, I'm very excited to see an alternative bridal line that will cater to a niche of women in today's times. Stores are scheduled to start opening in August, we will have to keep watching to see how this conceptual company does at retail! Good luck BHLDN!
