Breaking: Christophe Decarnin is Out @ Balmain

In this mornings NY Times, Cathy Horyn brought the news to America: as of today Decarnin and Balmain have officially parted ways after 5 years. The label should be announcing a new creative lead in the next week, with Melanie Ward being the front-runner at the time being.

Decarnin may have been absent from Balmain for months now!

Ms. Ward stepped in to lead the finishing touches for the Fall 2011 shows, after Decarnin "hit some kind of personal impasse and lost control of the label," reports Horyn. For the Fall 2011 shows Decarnin was rumored to be at a mental hospital....yikes!

Cover Girl: Emma Stone for Glamour

A VERY blonde Emma Stone takes the May 2011 cover of Glamour Magazine issue, and dang is she looking breezy and beautiful!

Summer is almost here! Loving that dress...

• Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle Magazine and is an FIT Alumni!
• Andrea Linett, Creative Director at eBay Fashion, and the founding Creative Director at Lucky Magazine.
• Liza Deyrmenjian, Founder & CEO of Afingo.com, an up-and-coming industry networking site.

Julie Gilhart hasn't made a public appearance since leaving Barney's in the fall, that was until Friday when he made a speech at the AFINGO Fashion Forum for the Sustainability and Philanthropy panel. After being a VP at Barney's for 18 years one has to wonder, what exactly will she do next?

That's right David! FASHION AT FIT!!

This afternoon FIT was privileged to host David Karp, the founder of Tumblr! With him came his incredible fashion director Rich Tong. Together these two gave a short presentation and a long Q&A with our students covering everything from the story of it all, to the current growth and INTERNSHIPS!!
