FRIDAY:

• Havainas is opening their very own store in Bloomingdale's at 59th & Lex tonight! From 5-7:00 pm enjoy a live DJ and gift with purchase courtesy of People Style Watch magazine while perusing their new boutique! 
• The High Line is hosting a free outdoor film screening of Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train tonight from 7-9:00 pm! How cute, right? The event will take place at the 14th Street Passage on the High Line at 14th Street. For more info click here.
• Pacha NYC is hosting Will.I.Am (doing a DJ set) and Jaguar Skills from 10:00 pm until sunrise! And even better, it's only $10 before midnight! To put your name on the list click here and be sure

It's-Almost-October-Weather: What To Wear?!

WHAT IS THIS WEATHER?! If any of you are like me at all then you've been struggling getting dressed every morning then let's go through this step-by-step.

DAYTIME: WEATHER.COM ASAP!! With things going up and down so rapidly it's good to know what to expect for the day!

Some key things that you could still wear with this up and down weather includes:

• Maxi-Dresses

 The key to maxi's with this current weather is to grab a layer before you leave the apartment, grab a super chunky cardigan, a shawl, even just a scarf to keep yourself warm in those FREEZING classrooms!

Happy Sweet Sixteen for the Style Shop!!

Yesterday was the grand opening of the Style Shop for the school year, and we're happy to say it is the 16th year that the student-run store will be in business!

The Style Shop opening was definitely the most popular event so far of the year!

 To kick off the event were all the style shop buyers and of course Co-Managers Corey and Elle!

This year Sophomore Tyler Everhart has been put in charge of the Style Shop's Product Development sector of the business, and I was fortunate enough to receive a preview of the collection for the Grand Opening of the Style Shop TONIGHT!!

Men's spring collections are slowly trickling out of NYC, and thank goodness some of them have been just as exciting fashion-wise as the women's spring collections!

What are men looking for when it comes to NYFW anyway? Spontaneity is a good word for it. Kaiser Karl Reigns with New Macy's Line

All hail the Kaiser! Yesterday Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his new Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse line at Macy's Herald Square. According to the Washington Post, the line is an affordable collection of tweeds, dresses, shirts and shorts, and ranges in price from $50 to $170. And according to common sense, the collection was bound to be fabulous from the get-go. Mr. Chanel himself designing for Macy's? Terry Lundgren couldn't have coordinated a better deal.

Yes, September 7th is that magical date where the hell of shopping Zara 5th Ave ends! No more ridiculous lines at Zara SoHo. No more running into sizes Large/XL on the rack when I need a size Small at any Zara location period!

Yesterday was the first meeting of  the 2011-2012 school year for Merchandising Society! Despite the gloomy forecast outside, the room was bright with promise as members, both new and veteran, turned out to support our club and embark on a new school year.
