Burberry Prorsum: London Fashion Week
The Fall 2013 was
about putting a contemporary twist on the traditional style that Burberry is
known for.
A few proper feminine
details such as silhouettes that pulled in at the waist and the accompanying
kitten heels were kept, (and of course there were plenty of variations of their iconic trench coat) but most of the line’s other aspects were new to the brand.
Many of the pieces were covered in graphic animal or heart prints - towards
the end of the show bright red and navy stripes were added to the mix.
These details definitely gave the line a more young feeling; maybe a little too childlike, reminding me of the heart and polka dot printed dresses I would get excited to wear as a kid.
However, the unusual materials used as accents, such as metal and rubber, gave the clothes the edge that transformed them into womenswear.
What do you think of Burberry’s playfully modern style?

Vivienne Westwood Red Label: London Fashion Week
I have always thought of the Vivienne Westwood shows as ones to look out for. In comparison to her main line, Red Label has a toned-down eclectic feel, appealing to the artsy or daring business woman. I'm not saying we don't all enjoy a typical disheveled Westwood model sporting a nip slip or a rad tartan print. But Red Label is a play off her typical punk vibe and is quite wearable. With that being said, according to Women's Wear Daily, "It was all undeniably Westwood but occasionally felt a bit safe for a woman who is known for being fearless."
Here are some of our favorite looks.

Simone Rocha: London Fashion Week
What was so great about the Simone Rocha show during London's Fashion Week was that the designer wasn't afraid to use color. The collection showed spring colors like pastel yellow and pink, while also incorporating black into most of the garments. Also shown in the collection was many faux-fur pieces shown in jackets, dresses, and sweaters.
This jacket reminds me of one that Jackie O wore..
Such a gorgeous dress. I love the how clean and simple the fit is!
