October 4th: It is Design and Architecture month in NYC, so enjoy Archtober until the 31st. Enjoy design tours, lectures, films, and more at museums around the city! More information at: www.archtober.org
October 4th - 6th: The New Yorker Festival is here again for all of you literature buffs! This weekend is full of panel discussions and live readings, film screenings, musical performances, and food tastings. Visit: www.newyorker.com
October 5th: The weather isn't the only hot thing happening this weekend! Go to the Chile Pepper Festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. There will be music, dancing, and of course food. Visit www.bbg.org
October 6th: Love animals and Halloween? Visit the Bronx Zoo for Boo at the Zoo, held every weekend in October. Hay mazes and pumpkin painting are some of the activities offered.
This Week in the City catch the Columbus Day Parade on Fifth Avenue from 44th to 72nd St. on Monday October 14 (aka Columbus Day). There will be marching bands, floats, and performances.
