Friday morning, Alicia Keys is holding a free concert in Central Park from 7:00 am - 9:00 am. Yes, we know it is wayyy early in the morning, but it's FREE. Another event happening this weekend is Electric Zoo, at Randall's Island Park. This starts August 30th and ends on September 1st. Yes, it is $139.00 per ticket for one day of admission, but if you love electronic music, this is definitely the festival for you! Hi There Everyone!

Hope you are having a fabulous Tuesday! After Sunday night’s VMAs, there has been a buzz about not only Miley Cyrus’ umm….performance?, but also the fashion! Black, white, lace, and sheer panels seemed to be all the rage with a mix of daring and demure! Personally, I thought Ariana Grande’s dress was adorable, but there Kenley Collins goes again copying other designers. It looked quite reminiscent of Lucy Liu’s Carolina Herrera dress at the Golden Globes. Selena Gomez was rocking her Versace, T-Swift looked elegant in Herve Leger, and Naya Rivera looked stunning as well. The memo seemed to have read: sleek. Stars who dropped the ball? Katy Perry, whose grill left something to be desired, Miley who left the audience not-so-smiley, and Lil’ Kim just to name a few. Who were your fashion faves and fashion fails?

The Weekender Report

Yes, I am sure we have all been waiting for this...the weekend! After a long week it is time to let loose and enjoy your days off! Here are just a few picks for this weekend:


Friday:

Rain, rain, go away FIT wants to play! It's so not Chanel weather outside, but the Music Note is here to cheer you up! The tunes that we have today are massive and will surely produce a smile on your face!  I encourage everyone to get off their booties right now & have a mini dance party wherever you are right now!!

Our member of the week Ashley Coico knows the drill.  She shared the song that always makes her happy! The song is Give Me Everything by Pitbull!  And can we blame her? This is one song that should make everyone want to dance.  Even if you don't like the song you can still crack a smile at how Pitbull sings from the side of his mouth!

Class work bringing you down again?  Well, have no fear The Music Note is here to get you out of the Tuesday blues.  Last week was completely dedicated to Drake after his new album had been leaked.  This week I'm happy to say FIT students are still in rap mode, but this time it's all about college rappers! Yes, thanks to Asher Roth these young studs are becoming more known in the music industry! Check it out!

Taylor, a third semester Textile Design major, informed us of her love for these rappers. When asked what she was listening to she was happy to share this song.  Me First by T Mills!  Not only is Taylor addicted to the song but she also finds the rapper hot! & If you take a chance to look, he actually is quite good looking! Take a listen & don't be afraid to check out more of his tunes!
