Tuesday Twist!

Hi everyone!
While it is usually time for our weekly dose of street style, we want to talk about the Academy Awards!! We were eagerly anticipating watching the red carpet to see what some of our favorite celebrities would be wearing. Luckily, many actresses and actors looked FANTASTIC this time around, although some left us thinking "huh?" Scroll down to see what we are talking about, and let us know your fashion faves and fails!

Wow! Jennifer Lawrence was a knock-out once again in this poppy red peplum gown by Dior Couture. Luckily, she didn't knock anyone out when she fell on the red carpet!
Lupita looked AMAZING is this light blue, pleated, plunging goddess gown by Prada! We love how she always takes a chance with color, and hope to see more hits from her in awards seasons to come.
Amy Adams looked nice, but we don't think her Gucci dress was to die for. We do, however, approve of her choice of up-do, which doesn't look juvenile like her Golden Globes choice.

Charlize looked gorgeous in this black Dior gown with a unique neckline! Sometimes the details of a black gown fade away, but this looked beautiful.

Kate Hudson was stunning in this drop-dead-gorgeous Atelier Versace gown!! Absolute perfection.

Cate's Armani dress is beautiful and so elegant!

We weren't a fan of this Giambattista Valli dress. Sorry Penelope!

We love you Gabourey! Just not this dress...

Just....no...

2013 American Music Awards Fashion Review

As with most recent award shows, there was some controversy over performance outfit choices like

Katy Perry's Geisha inspired look:

and Miley Cyrus in her Kitty two-piece ensemble:

The Huffington Post felt the red carpet fashion was best described as “interesting" and New York Times Style noted that many of this year's pieces were straight from the runway. Everyone was looking their best, but there were no huge surprises that stole the show this year.

Taylor Swift in Julien Macdonald

Jennifer Hudson in Dior

Christina Aguilera in Maria Lucia Hohan

Katy Perry in Oscar de la Renta

Rihanna, accepting the first ever AMA Icon Award, in Jean Paul Gaultier Couture

Lady Gaga, the new face of Versace, in...you guessed it..Versace

Just remember that no matter what the stars wear on the AMA red carpet, it can always be worse-

Hi There Everyone!
Hope you are having a fabulous Tuesday! After Sunday night’s VMAs, there has been a buzz about not only Miley Cyrus’ umm….performance?, but also the fashion! Black, white, lace, and sheer panels seemed to be all the rage with a mix of daring and demure! Personally, I thought Ariana Grande’s dress was adorable, but there Kenley Collins goes again copying other designers. It looked quite reminiscent of Lucy Liu’s Carolina Herrera dress at the Golden Globes. Selena Gomez was rocking her Versace, T-Swift looked elegant in Herve Leger, and Naya Rivera looked stunning as well. The memo seemed to have read: sleek. Stars who dropped the ball? Katy Perry, whose grill left something to be desired, Miley who left the audience not-so-smiley, and Lil’ Kim just to name a few. Who were your fashion faves and fashion fails?

Final Grammy Gossip: Brittany Demarco

One of my favorite things to do after an award show is to watch Fashion Police on E! with Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic, and George Kotsiopoulos.  Although I’m sure this does not pertain to our readers, if you have never seen Fashion Police, the ‘officers’ recap the special night being highlighted and bash or applaud celebs on their fashion choices.  My favorite segment is the “Best and Worst dressed” so I figured I would do my own best and worst dressed of the Grammys, with a few honorary mentions.

I’ll start…with the bad news. My worst pick for the night was Nicki Minaj. Although I am fan of her music I just could not support her on this one. Her animal print getup from head to toe was just too much to handle in one sitting! And even though I’m no hair stylist, I think it speaks for itself. Sorry Nicki!

I see here a cross between a Lady Gaga wanna-be and Cruella DeVille.
Now for the good news! My best dressed award came to a tie between two beautiful ladies, Jennifer Hudson and Eva Longoria. Let’s start with Jennifer Hudson; the girl has never looked better! She was amazingly slim and rocking the navy blue, I only wish her hair wasn’t covering part of the gorgeous beadwork on her dress! She is a beauty and a positive role model to many.

Finally, Miss Longoria, who has always been a fashion inspiration for me, whether it’s her hair and makeup (which I modeled after for my senior prom!) or fashion choices, she always looks stunning! She kept it simple and classy with an above-the-knee black and white ruffled dress, accented with dangle earrings. Great job ladies, keep up the good work!

I had to do a double-take to even realize this was her!
I also want to make an honorary mention for the best turn-around of the night; Nicole Polizzi, better known as Snooki from the Jersey Shore. Many associate her as being “trashy”, wearing cheap and extremely short dresses; however at the Grammys she looked just as chic as the rest! Good job Snooks, classy looks good on you!

I think that just about sums it up for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards! Leave us your comments and opinions on who YOU think made best and worst dressed! Check out this link to see E! Fashion Police clip, featuring the Grammys. Thanks for reading!

xoxo,

Brittany

-Additional note from Rony:

Because we have already heard so much about Lady Gaga's "egg" appearance: NONE FOR LADY GAGA BYE!!
