Tuesday Street Style: Milan Fashion Week

Happy Tuesday!

This week's street style feature comes all the way from Milan Fashion Week, where clutches are king! Perfect to stash your essentials, clutches can simply be functional, or a fashion statement! Studded, big, small, neutral or brightly hued, clutches were the it-bag for fashionistas on the go. Palm-sized perfection please!

Fendi Spring 2013

The theme for the Fendi show in Milan this season was set by the backdrop: large gray spheres hanging from the ceiling, contrasting a stark white runway. Even after one of the spheres dropped to create an explosive start to the show, the innovation ball kept rolling.

 The futuristic idea continued throughout the show with geometric color-blocking. Fendi expanded on their classic usage of leather and fur with updated ideas, which were seen in the use of colored fur and patterned leather towards the end of the show. For every strong leather piece there was a more feminine compliment, my favorite being the shirtdresses, which were a major trend on the Spring 2013 runway.

 An interesting aspect of the show that might have gone unnoticed was the make-up; models wore color-blocked strips of neoprene under their eyes to create a very unique effect.

Milan Fashion Week Street Style

One of my favorite things about Fashion Week, you know, other than seeing all of the beautiful clothes that are on the runway, is seeing how normal people dress during the week! Milan Fashion Week was September 19-25th and here are some of my favorite Street Style pieces I've found!

Milan Fashion Week 2012 has quickly come to an end. Although the various designers are a constant inspiration, street style has taken trends and inspiration to a whole new level!

Trend Alert: The Glam of the 60s & 70s Returns!

Don't panic. We aren't talking about the BAD 60s & 70s! Think NYC glamour meets an Italian Twiggy, who lives in Paris. Now isn't that a much better picture!!

Yes it seems as though all over the runways the trends that will be dominating the Fall 2011 season are a return to the 60s and 70s looks with a more glamorous interpretation for today's women.

 Pretty Prada, bringing colors back for fall!

The new looks are featuring both the wide leg printed pant, with the bold colors for fall from the era, a time when women dressed up and looked fabulous all the time! I for one am excited to see how the NYC girl will interpret the trends.
