The Weekender Report!

Hey hey hey and HAPPY FRIDAY! It's been a long, cold week and it's time to start the weekend off right! Here is another handy dandy installment of the The Weekender Report.

Friday: 
  • Want to do a haunted house but too scared to go to Blackout Haunted House? Check out the Steampunk Haunted House instead! Located on Grand St., this attraction takes you into a darker side of Lewis Carroll's classic fiction. Upon arriving, visitors will be "thrust into a beautiful and terrifying dreamscape of neo-Victorian elegance and phantasmagoric clockwork horrors." Students pay $10 but only for walk-up the day of.   • Ready to dance? 1Oak will be hosting musical stylings from The Chainsmokers and Daniel Chetritall night long from sun down to sun up! For more info click here. 
Saturday: 
It's going to rain Saturday and it's going to be freezing! (According to Weather.com it'll only reach 42 degrees!) so take cover with the following:
  • Hats off to this exhibit, which is bound to be interesting! "Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones" presents creations worn by the royal family, Sarah Jessica Parker and Mick Jagger. Located at the Bard Graduate Center Gallery, the exhibit is open from 11 am to 5 pm and only $5 for students! For more info click here.

  • Celebrate Halloween with THE Patricia Field! The Co-Op on Rivington Street is hosting Candyland Halloween with Patricia Field from 10 pm to 4 am. Open admission, includes decor and costumes by Ms. Field herself, a live electric violin performance, and treats! For more info click here!
  • Round out your night by heading over to GunBar's Halloween party tribute to Tim Burton! The themed party will feature artwork by the famed director, music from DJ Martial and prizes! Click here for more.

Sunday:
Sunday will stay true to its name with clear skies! Take a day to recover for the school week.
  •  Since it'll be nice, take your own historic walking tour of the Brooklyn Bridge! It'll take you about 30 minutes so why not soak up some sun? To find the facts you'll need to absorb, click here!
  • After you're done on the Bridge, refuel with a bite to eat at the South Street Seaport! Each Sunday, the Seaport features a Fulton Stall Market with homemade snacks, handmade gifts and fresh food. The market lasts from 11 am to 5 pm and sometimes features live music and art installations. Click here for more.
  • Warm up with a Thai Tea Float at Spot Dessert Bar on 13 St. St Mark's Place between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Look how yummy! Click here for more fall drink suggestions.
