Help Wanted for Dior: Marc Jacobs Says No!

Yes, it is that time of the week again! Another Thursday with more scandalous news from the industry. Now, we know our readers are up to date with their WWD articles, but if not here's what you've missed!

One of the many runway shows of Galliano for Dior

As everyone knows John Galliano was creative director for Christian Dior for a long time. He produced  fabulous runway shows season after season.  However, everyone also knows that Dior gave him the boot after he was accused of saying anti-Semitic remarks! Since Galliano's dramatic firing in March, Dior has yet to replace him!

Dior is always soo classy!

The creative director job for Dior has become more and more high profiled.  The biggest question leading it is, Who is good enough for it? Many designers have been named in many fashion articles regarding the job search, but one was named frontrunner to them all.  The one and only Marc Jacobs has been said to take over where John Galliano left off.

 Marc Jacobs for Dior?! WHAT!

He is a busy man though, as he is already working with LVHM for a while now.  The rumors of  his hiring for Dior started in mid August.  One of the heads at LVHM even released a statement to WWD saying that both Dior and Jacobs were "excited" about the prospects.  To the fashion world, everyone felt that he had received the job and was eager to start. Boy, were we wrong!

WWD recently released an article stating that Jacobs' chances of receiving the job are now seen as unlikely.  It is not that Dior does not want him, but more of Jacobs does not want Dior! Marc Jacobs apparently told the haute couture fashion house that the only way he would take the position was if his team at LVHM could join him!  Dior obviously disagreed to the request, which therefore lead Marc to turn down the job offer.  There were also rumored to be salary disagreements between the two.

Which one of these designers will be top choice?

It has been nine months of Dior not having a creative director already! How many more months are going to pass by without the position being filled?  The fashion house is definitely in a bind now that Jacobs has said no.  There are reports of them approaching Alexander Wang, Raf Simons, and Jason Wu for the job, but do you think they are the best candidates?  Wang & Wu are said to be too young for the job as they are still rising stars in the industry! But the decision is left to Dior. What will they do?

There are still so many questions that need to be answered and we'll keep bringing the answers to you! Keep reading our scandalous fashion news updates every week! & Of course don't forget to read your WWD! Until next time, tell us your opinion on the matter! :)
