The Weekender!

BURRRR! Where did this cold come from? After days of everyone getting used to warm weather and light jackets, December has creeped up on us all!! Let the layers begin, but first let's kick off this first December weekend with some fun! Who's with me?

FRIDAY:

  • Best of the Holiday Shopping Event at 130 Crosby Street is going on all day today from Noon-8pm!  Didn't go shopping on Black Friday, it's no biggie get your discounts here!  This is one of the biggest shopping events at All Housing Works Thrift Shops.  Now, I know when some see thrif shops they don't want to go there, but it is not what you think at all. The shopping is mostly vintage pieces on the cheap.   They will definitely add flare to your wardrobe & who doesn't love shopping! Click here to see a video of how they set up for the event!
  • For all you party animals looking for a place to dance and stay warm check out the Skyroom tonight as they celebrate their One Year Anniversary!  Skyroom has been mentioned in previous Weekender Reports but for those who don't know it, I'll fill you in.  It's proving to be the hottest (literally) outdoor/indoor rooftop party in NYC!  The venue is heated during these cold nights, so guests can still look glamourous without worrying about freezing their booties off! Tonight in celebration of their one year they are having many DJs along with KTU's DJ Chris Bachman! Asia from The Pussycat Dolls will also be making an appearance tonight as well! Find the Skyroom at 330 W 40th Street!
SATURDAY:

  • Have nothing to do during the day? Stop by the SheMakes Holiday Festival!  Its a whole festival dedicated to showing off the works of emerging designers and artists! This is a perfect way of getting your name out to others starting out, as you never know where they might end up! The festival will have a number of different vendors from the chic leather goods of Emalle to the grunge metal bracelets to support the cause PeaceBomb!  If you're interested make sure to go to the S Space at Saatchi & Saatchi, at 375 Hudson Street
  • This weekend is all about shopping and celebrating! So of course this next option is a celebration! Pacha nightclub is insane and the hottest spot to be at especially for Saturday! The ticket event (click here to buy yours), is a bash for the club's six year anniversary!  Pacha never fails to disappoint with their parties to get a move on and get those tickets! Special sets and appearances by Martin Solveig, Hardwell, R3Hab, Quintino, and Adrian Lux!  Have the desire to look like an A-lister? Then this is your spot!! 618 W46th Street
SUNDAY:

  • Party too hard on Saturday night?  How about a nice stroll through Central Park! The weather will be sunny, so it's the perfect way to relax.  Take the walk with some friends, it's a great time to exchange the funny stories of what happened the night before.  Save some money and for lunch be a true New Yorker and have a hot dog or a big city pretzel. You can even enjoy a little ice skating!
  • Been busy studying for finals that you just want to get your mind off the books?  Go catch up on the movie scene Sunday!  Tickets are usually cheaper during the day on Sundays!  What's playing this weekend are: The Descendants, Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1, Hugo, Shame, My Week with Marilyn, and J Edgar.  You can find all these at the Chelsea Clearview Cinema at 260 W23rd Street!
