Cover Girl: Nicole Richie

Starlet Nicole Richie who rose to fame starring in the reality TV show The Simple Life alongside Paris Hilton has seen to find herself in the wonderful world of fashion as she rocks the April issue of Flare Magazine.

 Wearing Roberto Cavalli (above) the 30-year-old mom of two currently owns her own lines House of Harlow 1960 & Winter Kate and is a celebrity Mentor on the NBC show Fashion Star. She talks to Flare on what it's like balancing a career and family, fashion, her daughter Harlow and her best piece of advice.

On balancing work with family: “I try to only work when the kids are in school, so I’ll come home when they’re out of school and then go back to work at night.”

She has come a long way and I love her!

On the business of fashion: “In other areas of entertainment, it’s very easy to just be the artist—to sing a song or play a role and then let someone else deal with the business side of it. But in the fashion industry, you have to think about your line sheets, production, fabrics, and make sure you’re shipping on time—that’s what makes your brand. You really have to be an artist and a business person at the same time.”

On her daughter, Harlow’s, future in fashion: “She has no idea that she has two lines named after her—I try and let her be a kid.”
