The Fall 2013 was
about putting a contemporary twist on the traditional style that Burberry is
known for.
A few proper feminine
details such as silhouettes that pulled in at the waist and the accompanying
kitten heels were kept, (and of course there were plenty of variations of their iconic trench coat) but most of the line’s other aspects were new to the brand.
Many of the pieces were covered in graphic animal or heart prints - towards
the end of the show bright red and navy stripes were added to the mix.
These details definitely gave the line a more young feeling; maybe a little too childlike, reminding me of the heart and polka dot printed dresses I would get excited to wear as a kid.
However, the unusual materials used as accents, such as metal and rubber, gave the clothes the edge that transformed them into womenswear.
What do you think of Burberry’s playfully modern style?
