The Weekender Report!

It's October people!! That means coat check season...however it does bring some fantastic weekend ideas for everyone, and our favorite yearly activities back to NYC!


Yes that's right, for all of you that enjoy a good scare, or a really cute first date, the haunted houses are back!
FRIDAY:
  • Check out Nightmare Fairy Tales, our haunted house pick of the week! There are student group tickets available for $15 you just need to buy in advance and bring all your FIT ID's! Open 6-Midnight, later in the season till 2AM! http://www.hauntedhousenyc.com/tickets.php

  •  Deadmau5 Meowingtons Hax Tour! If you don't already know, Roseland Ballroom is hosting the infamous dance band ALL WEEKEND LONG!! Sure it's sold out, but if you're desperate, do check out StubHub!! Stubhub-Deadmau5
  • Like to dance? How about Adele remixes? Check out PACHA Friday night! Voted 14th best dance club in the WORLD, Pacha is hosting German DJ Thomas Gold (the person responsible for the Set Fire to the Rain remix) it is sure to be a wild night of dancing and fun! $10 before midnight. Pacha NYC

SATURDAY:
  • Tony Bennett: Portrait of Artist by Kelsey Bennett exhibit (last 2 days!) 
    • From 10AM to 5PM the Morrison Hotel Gallery (124 Prince Street) New York City based photographer Kelsey Bennett unveils her most recent collection of stills at the Morrison Hotel Gallery. It coincides with the release of Tony's album 'Duets II', featuring duets with fellow icons such as Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Willie Nelson, K.D Lang and the late Amy Winehouse. (Guest of a Guest)
  •  SHOPPING!! Did you check out our Columbus Day Shopping Guide yet?
  • I-Ella VIP Shopping event, ALL OF MS IS INVITED!

Stop at Whole Foods Columbus Circle and hit the grass before it's too late!
SUNDAY:
  • Brunch in Central Park: the leaves may not be changing color just yet, but the air sure is getting cooler! Enjoy one of the last weekends you can in Central Park with your best friends and some great eats from Whole Foods! You'll regret it when it's too late!
  • "ArtBridge 2010: In Plain Site" Right by FIT, ArtBridge—the nonprofit organization that has been turning urban construction sites into temporary art installations since 2008—commissioned 25 emerging NYC artists to gussy up the 1,840 square feet of scaffolding surrounding a residential building on West 23rd Street. W 23rd St between Ninth and Tenth Aves.
  •  Good Food Fest: Enjoy the autumn harvest at this local-food fair, with chefs such as Gramercy Tavern and Dell'Anima. Purchase four ($20), eight ($35), 12 ($50) or 20 tasting tickets ($75, includes a gift bag), then trade them for DELICIOUS FOOD! All proceeds benefit the FEED Foundation, which provides nutritional school meals for children, and God's Love We Deliver, an organization that distributes food to those with serious illnesses.
