American Ballet Theatre:
If you're a ballet fanatic, this might be something you want to do! The American Ballet Theatre is back at City Center with a selection of one-act works, which includes a premiere by Alexei Ratmansky set to Shostakovich (A Russian composer). The new ballet by ABT is the first in an evening of 3 ballets that are also by Shostakovich. Look out for the rest of the ballet this spring at the Metropolitan Opera House. The American Ballet Theatre is at the New York City Center, which is located on 131 W 55th Street between Sixth and Seventh Ave. Tickets are running between $20-$135. The show is running until Saturday October 20th.
Feel like going on a ghost tour? During the New York City Ghost Tour, the guides dress in Victorian-era attire which illuminates the gloomy stroll through supernatural haunts in Greenwich Village. You'll hear stories of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and the Hangman's Elm (which is called this because of the executions are rumored to have taken place on the branches). The Ghost Tour is meeting under Washington Square Arch, Washington Square North at Fifth Ave. The Ghost Tour requires reservations and the tickets are between $15-$20. The tour is running until Friday, October 30th.
New York Botanical Garden (Monet's Garden)
The New York Botanical Garden re-creates Monet's masterworks. The Botanical Garden reproduced views of Monet's water lilies, a Japanese footbridge, and the Grand Allee that all appeared in the artist's works. The visitors will be able to compare the replicas to two authentic Monet's (The Artist's Garden in Giverny and Irises). The New York Botanical Garden is located at Bronx River Pwky (at Fordham Road) in Bronx, New York. Tickets for students range from $18-$22. Monet's Garden is only here until Sunday, October 21st!
