The Weekender: November 8th-10th

Happy Weekend and TGIF!

This week, we have one musical pick, but really wanted to focus on fabulous food finds for all of you foodies!

November 9th: Go to the Jazz & Colors concert in Central Park to hear a variety of jazz styles! There are 30 bands stationed around the park and the event is FREE and a perfect way to enjoy the last days of fall. Visit: jazzandcolors.com for more information about times and bands performing.

Now, for our fabulous foodie finds!

Ilili: I once ate here for an intern dinner and OMG, you don't even need to eat dinner. Just order a bunch of appetizers to share and you are set. If you love Mediterranean food, definitely check this spot out! THEY HAVE THE BEST BRUSSELS SPROUTS EVER, and a really cool atmosphere to boot. 236 5th Avenue http://www.ililinyc.com/Menus.html

CALEXICO: "Might as well cancel your dinner plans if you make it over to the Calexico cart in SoHo or the Flatiron at lunchtime. This California-style Mexican food truck brings lots of hefty burritos and tacos to town, like the carne asado burrito ($9), made with grilled hangar steak and avocado sauce, or the pollo asado quesadilla ($8) made with grilled chicken, melted cheddar and monterey jack cheeses and Calexico's signature chipotle "crack" sauce. They've also got tacos and burrito bowls. Burritos come packed with pinto or refried beans and cheese, and are so filling you are guaranteed to fall into a mid-afternoon food coma if you opt for one." http://www.calexico.net/
